After Care Instructions
Please expect a 10-14 day healing process. You will receive these instructions at your appointment as well.
-
Day 1 - Lightly dab brows throughout the day (as needed) to remove lymph fluid and prevent crust.
-
Day 2-10 - Very lightly dab (do not rub) ointment to the brows morning and nightly with a q-tip. To avoid infection, do not use finger tips. Brows should not be shiny or glistening. Simply apply enough to avoid them drying out.
-
Day 10-14 - Do nothing. Peeling is normal -- Don't freak out! Do not pick or assist the brows with peeling as this will pull off areas prematurely, and cause patches/spots of color loss. Do not add makeup...literally, do nothing.
-
Avoid sweating/working out, direct sunlight, swimming, water on brows, steam in shower or sauna, and wash around your brows when washing your face until healed (14 days after service)
-
Avoid any anti-aging serums or products near the brows until they have completely healed (24 days after service)
*****Failure to follow these instructions may result in color loss*****
What to Expect During Your Visit:
-
Upon arrival you will review and sign your consent forms, and pay your balance.
-
After reviewing your medical history, we will begin the brow consultation process. We will determine the shape, color, and overall effect and you will make the final decision.
-
I will numb your brows and you can relax in the lobby or bed until numbing is complete.
-
Once numb, the procedure will take place, and you will have the opportunity to view your progress several times throughout the process. No worries!
-
Once done, we will discuss after care and you will leave the lounge with after care instruction and an AOF after care kit.
The Healing Process:
Day 1
You may experience redness; Depending on the pigment used you may also see an orange cast where the pigment is placed. This is due to oxidization and should disappear in a few hours.
Day 2
The pigment in the brow area may appear visibly darker than the initial color on the first day. This is the result of the natural oxidation process that takes place in the skin once pigment has been implanted. The pigment is reacting slowly with oxygen in the air, turning it darker.
Day 3
The skin in the brow area should form a crust-like appearance. You should continue to place a moderate amount of ointment on your brows. Avoid over applying the healing ointment.
Day 4-8
The skin in the brow area will continue to crust. During this time, you should experience shedding of the previously formed crust. Please do not pick at the scabbing skin, instead allow it to naturally shed. IMPORTANT: If you peel the crust prematurely, you take the risk of losing the pigment behind it or minor scarring.
Day 9+
The crust should have completely shed and the pigment behind will look very faint. DO NOT PANIC!! The color will return gradually in the weeks to come. The average client will see a return by week two. However, the average healing time is four weeks.
Day 30
Your brows should appear 30% lighter, and with a soft powdery finish. Please be advised that these are semi-permanent brows and will gradually fade. Your lifestyle and skin type determine the longevity of the brows. Avoid direct sun exposure, use sunscreen regularly, and enjoy your new brows!
Touch Ups
Touch-Ups are not required but are generally needed to boost the color lost during the healing process. To avoid scarring, we avoid going over the skin multiple times in one visit. Adding color, correcting lighter areas, and redefining the brows are all done at the touch up visit, which occurs between 4-10 weeks after the initial service.
Yearly Color Boost
Depending on your preference and your skin type, a yearly color boost is the perfect way to refresh your brows and protect your investment.
